Set it up in your browser: Edge, Brave, Vivaldi and Opera

Last reviewed: 2 November 2026

Edge

  1. Open TabOverview’s Chrome Web Store page in Edge.
  2. If Edge asks about extensions from other stores, choose Allow.
  3. Add the extension. If Edge asks whether to keep the new tab change, keep it.

Your Edge Favorites are what TabOverview shows as Saved. If you later turn off Allow extensions from other stores, Edge removes extensions that came from those stores, and TabOverview goes with them.

Brave

Add it from the Chrome Web Store, as you would in Chrome. Then check one setting: if Show bookmarks bar is set to only appear on the new tab page, the bar disappears once an extension provides that page. Other new tab extensions report the same thing. Set it to Always instead.

Vivaldi

  1. Add it from the Chrome Web Store.
  2. In Settings, open Tabs, then New Tab Page. Choose Start Page and tick Controlled by Extension.
  3. To see Home when Vivaldi starts as well, open General, set Startup with to Specific Pages, and add chrome-extension://ID/page/newtab.html. Replace ID with TabOverview’s ID from vivaldi://extensions.

Vivaldi’s Tab Stacks are its own feature, so they don’t appear as groups in TabOverview.

Opera and Opera GX

Open TabOverview’s Chrome Web Store page in Opera and choose Add to Opera. If you don’t see that button, update Opera first. Opera may ask you to turn the extension on in its Extensions page.

Home won’t appear as your new tab, because Opera doesn’t let extensions replace its Speed Dial. The grid, search and Saved should still open from the icon or your shortcut.

What we’ve tested

We build and test TabOverview on Chrome. We haven’t tested it in these four browsers yet, so these steps come from their own help pages and from what other new tab extensions report. If something here is wrong in your browser, please tell us at hello@groupposting.com.

TabOverview is a free extension for Google Chrome on a computer, coming soon to the Chrome Web Store. It needs no registration, and it has no server of its own.
